Who We Are?
Explore Banff Tours & Transfers was founded in early 2023 by Australian expat Josh Smith, following the birth of his "Can-stralian" son. Josh had long thought about starting a tour company, but with travel in his veins, it took years of travelling the world to find his 'forever home' in the Rocky Mountains to establish a tour business.
As a team of avid outdoor adventurers, we are always more than happy to share our extensive local knowledge, any recent recommendations and insider tips to ensure you make the most out of your time in the beautiful Canadian Rockies!
Meet Our Team
Josh Smith
Managing Director
Josh, with his diverse experience in the tourism sector both in Canada and internationally, brings a wealth of knowledge to Explore Banff Tours & Transfers. His passion for meeting new people and showcasing the stunning mountain landscape ensures that our focus remains squarely on delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Away from the office and the road, Josh is a sports enthusiast, both as a participant and a dedicated spectator. He has traveled extensively to attend major sporting events worldwide, including the Tour De France, Monaco F1's, President's Cup Golf, Cricket World Cup, and three out of the four Tennis Grand Slams, among many others.
AVERY MCLAUGHLIN
Operations Coordinator & Tour Guide
Avery brings her expertise to the Explore Banff team as both an experienced guide and operations specialist. With her extensive knowledge of the Icefields Parkway gained from guiding at the Columbia Icefields, Avery is a valuable asset. Beyond her proficiency in driving and guiding, her dedication to exceptional customer service ensures that she will be at the forefront, engaging with our guests and preparing them for their tours.
In her personal life, Avery is an avid traveler who enjoys exploring new destinations. She also finds joy in playing tennis, snowboarding during the winter months, and expressing herself through playing the piano.
AUSTIN KOSSLYN
Tour Guide
Austin is a committed guide and a specialist in the Banff area. With his Professional IGA certification under his belt, there's hardly a question he can't answer. Drawing from his background as a Guide and Manager at the Banff Canoe Club, Austin not only possesses extensive guiding experience and knowledge but also prioritizes safety above all else.Outside of guiding, Austin finds solace and excitement in various outdoor activities. He particularly enjoys snowboarding & hiking. Additionally, Austin has a keen eye for capturing the beauty of nature through photography, further deepening his connection to the mountains.
BROOKE REID
Tour Guide
Brooke brings valuable experience to Explore Banff, having served as both a Boat Captain/Tour Guide at Lake Minnewanka, near the Town of Banff. With multiple seasons of ski patrolling at various resorts under her belt, in addition to numerous outdoor safety certifications, she's well-versed in outdoor safety and adventure. Beyond her professional skills, Brooke's passion for the outdoors shines through, as she enjoys hiking, canoeing, and skiing in her free time.
