Who Are WE?


Explore Banff Tours & Transfers was founded in early 2023 by Australian expat Josh Smith, following the birth of his "Can-stralian" son. Josh had long thought about starting a tour company, but with travel in his veins, it took years of travelling the world to find his 'forever home' in the Rocky Mountains to establish a tour business.

As a team of avid outdoor adventurers, we are always more than happy to share our extensive local knowledge, any recent recommendations and insider tips to ensure you make the most out of your time in the beautiful Canadian Rockies!

Meet Our Team

Josh Smith

Managing Director

Josh, with his diverse experience in the tourism sector both in Canada and internationally, brings a wealth of knowledge to Explore Banff Tours & Transfers. His passion for meeting new people and showcasing the stunning mountain landscape ensures that our focus remains squarely on delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Away from the office and the road, Josh is a dedicated father, husband as well as a sports and travel enthusiast, having spent his earlier years travelling the globe - often to attend major sporting events.

Josh, with his diverse experience in the tourism sector both in Canada and internationally, brings a wealth of knowledge to Explore Banff Tours & Transfers. His passion for meeting new people and showcasing the stunning mountain landscape ensures that our focus remains squarely on delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Away from the office and the road, Josh is a sports enthusiast, both as a participant and a dedicated spectator. He has traveled extensively to attend major sporting events worldwide, including the Tour De France, Monaco F1's, President's Cup Golf, Cricket World Cup, and three out of the four Tennis Grand Slams, among many others.

Hannah Arthurs

Operations & Sales Coordinator

Hannah is a dedicated tourism industry professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management from Thompson Rivers University. She brings valuable hands-on experience in tourism operations and sales within the Banff and Canmore region, combining her academic background with practical knowledge of one of Canada’s leading travel destinations.

Outside of the Explore Banff office, Hannah teaches yoga, volunteers her time with local community, and enjoys getting out and about in the mountains. An avid hiker, skier, traveller and bookworm.

AUSTIN KOSSLYN

Lead Guide - Sightseeing & Hiking

Austin is a dedicated and highly skilled guide specializing in the Rocky Mountain Nation Parks. With professional guiding certifications, extensive experience, and in-depth local knowledge, he is committed to providing safe and unforgettable experiences. His expertise and leadership have earned him the role of overseeing our Tour Guiding team.

Outside of guiding, Austin finds solace and excitement in various outdoor activities including snowboarding, hiking and climbing.

Austin is a dedicated and highly skilled guide specializing in the Rocky Mountain Nation Parks. With professional guiding certifications, extensive experience, and in-depth local knowledge, he is committed to providing safe and unforgettable experiences. His expertise and leadership have earned him the role of overseeing our Tour Guiding team.

Outside of guiding, Austin finds solace and excitement in various outdoor activities including snowboarding, hiking and climbing. Additionally, Austin has a keen eye for capturing the beauty of nature through photography, further deepening his connection to the mountains.

Our Services

Explore Banff Tours & Transfers specialize in sightseeing & hiking tours in the Banff region. Our current tours visit iconic destinations including Moraine Lake, Lake Louise, the Icefields Parkway, Emerald Lake, Takakkaw Falls, Johnston Canyon & Marble Canyon, as well as incredible sights in neighbouring Jasper, Yoho & Kootenay National Parks. Our hiking tours visit great locations Lake O'Hara, Bow Glacier Falls, Stanley Glacier, Boom Lake and Emerald Basin. We also offer transfer services for weddings, corporate outings, golf trips and so much more! Plus, we offer Calgary airport and ski resort transfers.
