DESCRIPTION

Escape the crowds and explore Johnston Canyon on our Evening Canyon walk.

On our journey to Johnston Canyon, travel along the Bow Valley Parkway, a hotspot for wildlife sightings. While we can’t guarantee sightings, you may have the opportunity to see wildlife such as elk, deer, big horn sheep, coyotes, or with some luck, a bear, wolf or moose.

Starting at the canyon’s base, you will be accompanied by your expert guide on a trail that winds through the canyon offering breathtaking views of waterfalls and the pristine turquoise waters in the creek below. The Lower Falls are the first stop, where you can stand in awe as the waterfall cascades through a narrow rock corridor. The mist and the roar of the water make this a truly immersive experience.

After enjoying the Lower Falls, you can continue along the trail on a self-guided hike to the Upper Falls, where the canyon widens and the waterfall becomes even more impressive, dropping over 30m (90ft). The upper falls offer an excellent viewpoint, allowing you to soak in the surrounding natural beauty of Johnston Canyon.
